Frequently Asked Questions
I offer 3 types of sessions Portraits, Headshots and Branding. They vary by shoot time, number of looks and locations, and inclusion of professional hair and makeup. All experiences include an in-studio pre-planning session, shoot time that’s all about you, and an in-studio image premiere and ordering appointment.
Your in-studio pre-planning session is designed to get you comfortable with the process and ask all your questions about what’s coming! We’ll talk through shoot locations, outfits, and hair and makeup. It’s also a great opportunity for us to get to know each other before your shoot.
I love helping my clients select their outfits for their sessions. I meet with most of them before the big day to help put together clothing and accessories, as well as hair and makeup ideas.
I also have a fun style closet in my studio with hats, jewelry, shoes, and clothing pieces for my clients to add in for their sessions.
I always recommend working with our professional makeup artist. It makes a huge difference! But if you plan to do your own makeup, I suggest practicing a few looks before your shoot.
P.S. Worried about a makeup artist not being able to match your skin tone or work with your hair type? Rest easy: All the pros I work with are well versed in working with a range of skin tones and hair textures.
There’s a big difference between everyday makeup and “camera-ready” makeup. The pros I work with have a ton of experience creating hair and makeup looks that are natural but show up great in finished photos.
Plus, letting someone else handle your hair and makeup can make the whole experience feel even more special — like a spa day rolled into your photo shoot!
Plenty of my male clients like to hand their skin prep and grooming over to a pro, too. You deserve to look your best for your experience. A professional hair and makeup artist will even out your skin tone, cover up any annoying blemishes, and make sure your hair looks great for your shoot.
I have several locations I can recommend or we can pick spots in the Greater Phoenix and Scottsdale area that mean something to you… I’ll be sure they look amazing on camera.
Depending on the package you select, the shoot itself will be between one and two hours. If you’re getting professional hair and makeup done (highly recommended!), that can take up to two hours as well. So plan on spending about 4 hours enjoying this luxe experience!
I believe in a light touch! I want your photos to look like the real you, not an unrecognizably airbrushed version of you.
I’ll take care of little things like blemishes and stray hairs during editing, and if you want other edits when you see your preview images, we can talk about those, too.
Headshots will pick their images same day or with in 24 hours. Branding sessions will receive an online gallery to make their selections within 3-5 business days. BUT! I’m always posting sneak peeks and previews of my favorite images on social media (I may even text you one that really takes my breath away). so you’ll rarely have to wait that long…
