I want to talk to you today about wearing white in your senior photos, but first…meet Emily! She’s a graduate from Veritas Prep, and she is such a sweetheart. The day was cold and blustery, but she never said a single word of complaint…she came out of her shell during our session, and was such a trooper. She never lost that gorgeous smile of hers, and had a great attitude. After graduation, Emily hopes to pursue a career in pre-law or political science, and eventually run for a political office. She was beautiful both inside and out, and just one of the kindest souls.
White tends to get a bit of a ‘bad rap’ in the context of senior wardrobes, but I love it! A few keys when choosing white toned clothing:
-Choose a shade of white that is flattering to your skin tone. Look for eggshell or light cream instead of pure white, which can really wash out skin-tones on camera. Blush, tan, taupe, and cream are all good alternatives to white if it is not suited to your complexion.
-Try a shade of white in your dress, pants, or shoes: White doesn’t have to be always in a top or dress! White skinny jeans look crisp and polished when paired with colored tops, and a white sundress can be very flattering! If you want to break up the monochromatic look, try a jean jacket or contrasting cardigan.
-If you don’t like wearing white, try adding some in unexpected ways: Pearl earrings, a white button down under a blazer, or a white belt are simple ways to bring this fresh and easy color into your senior wardrobe.
