As a photographer, I always love a good challenge. I enjoy stretching my creativity to its bounds, and knowing it keeps me at the top of my game. It’s hard to stay complacent when you are pushing yourself, and one way I do that is by listening to and welcoming the ideas of my clients. As I meet them, I hear what they have in mind, and the sort of vision they hope to bring to life in their photoshoot. Brianna is a knockout beauty, with an additional one-two punch: she’s part of the graduating Class of 2019, and is going to be a double major in vocal performance and criminal justice. Whew! She’s incredible. She is passionate about her music, and the opera, so she had high hopes for something theatrical, as well as elegant. We received permission from the stunning Tempe Center for the Arts to do this session inside, and it surpassed our expectations.
There were no external lights and reflectors inside, so I utilized the shadows and natural light to achieve the more dramatic feel she wanted. She wore some absolutely incredible dresses with lots of sparkle (her performance gowns), and getting to capture the movement and textures was so important to me. I have worked hard to change up my locations with each client. I want everything to reflect my clients, and really spotlight the things that are most important to them. I suggested this location, and reached out to them to secure permission, because I knew it would be perfect for her. Not only did she love the results, her parents also were thrilled! We finished her session outside for a more casual and carefree look, which rounded out her personality and helped celebrate everything that makes her special!
