When guys begin planning their senior wardrobe, some are super excited, and some would rather do ANYTHING than shop or try-on clothes. Some guys fall right in the middle, but most start to get excited as they see the whole picture; we put together a photoshoot, not just a few outfits. Your locations play into the styling, and so do your ensembles. I always emphasize a few things to every guy: much like the ladies, it’s all about the fit of your clothes. An ill-fitting jacket, sleeves that are too long, and pants that are a few inches too short…these all show up very obviously in senior photos and can disrupt your personal style and the flow of the image. Before your session, we advise steaming or ironing your items, and transporting them carefully, laid out in your vehicle or across the seat, rather than folding them or putting them inside a bag. It keeps you wrinkle free and feeling confident. Gavin, seen below, absolutely nailed his senior style! Every outfit was perfectly fitted and showed off his cool, urban fashion sense.
Gavin is from Scottsdale Christian Academy, and is very involved in theater. He has been part of several high school and community theater productions, and I was able to see him in “Annie”, where I was so impressed by his stage presence! He describes his style as “trendy and modern”, and enjoys shopping at places like H&M. Because of his very modern, tailored style, I knew we needed to pair him with a location downtown (since he will likely be on Broadway one day!), and this spot filled with modern architecture fit the bill. He hopes to use these images as professional headshots after graduation, and I can’t wait to see what he does next!
