“I am proud of you…for always being first…to say hi, to help, to accept responsibility, to care, smile, show your empathy. And your winning spirit is an inspiration for others, to become better people, better citizens, loving parents, awesome siblings,. Your smile makes our day, your success empowers our tomorrow. For now, for ever, we love you.” – Mom and Dad
I love desert sessions and get so excited when my Seniors want to head for the mountains! Meet Ashley, a graduate from Desert Mountain High School. Ashley came into my studio with a very clear idea of where she wanted her Senior Portraits to take place. She answered her style questionnaire with the desire to head for red mountains, cactus backdrop and desert trees and flowers. This session was all about color! Bright blue sky with the pop of yellow in her top accented by the reeds in the background. Golden!!
Is it just me, or does Ashley look like she stepped out of a Ralph Lauren ad in this set? Again, adding in more colors in her wardrobe, complimented by the beauty of the desert. Definitely a winning combination. It amazes me when people describe the desert as boring and bland. There are so many colors to play with if you are open to a more natural setting. We shot this session out at Papago Park because of its diversity in colors and textures. We planned her clothing to show off her style but also complement the beauty that she loves so much in the desert!
Have hats, will travel. I always throw in one or two hats for out shoots. Even if you don’t think you can carry off a hat with your outfit I recommend trying one for a few shots. Between this boho black rimmed hat and the tan one in the pictures above, I think the hats added that perfect touch to her outfit. Hats also give me a fun playground against that golden hour light. Just take a look at the backlit sun flare below to see what I mean.
Ashley’s mom pulled this dress and those shoes from my style closet and I am so glad she did! The color and sparkle of the sequins were a perfect match of the magical light at sunset. We also added a side braid for a little bit different look. It’s fun to step out of the everyday and wear something different for your Senior Pictures. We are celebrating a huge milestone, so why not dress up for the occasion! Ashley looked stunning in this outfit. This dress and several more sequined numbers are available for my seniors to add in to their outfits for the day.
I have to give a huge shout out to my make up artist, Stephanie here. Look how beautiful and natural Ashley’s make up is for her day. Just the perfect amount to stand out in pictures and to make you look flawless. But never too much for your comfort level or what you want for your final look! I could just swoon over those perfect colors and lashes. When I am asked why I include Hair and Make up for your big day, this is the Why. To make it as relaxing as stress free for you as possible, with results that are this good. The goal is to make you look like YOU, just on your best day!
What a fun way to finish up her shoot! Ashley and her family are huge fans of the Green Bay Packers so why not bring in some elements into her shoot. SO. MUCH.FUN. And what a great way to show all the different facets to her personality. From fashionista to football fan, I’ve got you! What do you want your Senior Portraits to say about you?
