Confidence is the best thing a high schooler can wear for their senior session. It is the thing that shows the most clearly, in each and every image! But when you don’t feel confident, what are you to do? Here are a few ways to boost your confidence when you may not feel your best:
-Highlight the things you love about yourself: Do you feel great about your eyes? Do you have strong arms? Are you a voracious reader with a bright mind? Make an actual list of the things you love about your personality or yourself, and put them on a post-it that you can read every day. It might seem strange or vain, but remembering positives will eliminate a lot of the negative thoughts you may be having.
-Get out and serve someone: Whether you do something small, like paying for a stranger’s coffee, or something big like running lengthy errands for a friend in need, serving others is a great antidote to feeling low or down. It can also remind us what is truly important in life, and how to get out of our own “headspace”, so to speak. Service projects or doing something nice for someone else is a great way to not only feel beautiful but truly BE beautiful.
-Book your senior session: Yes, it’s true; senior photos are a way to feel more confident. Sometimes, it’s hard to remember your own worth and beauty until you actually see it, tangibly in front of you! Booking with a senior photographer who understands your passions, interests, and likes/dislikes is key to having a shoot that leaves you feeling amazing, instead of comparing yourself to someone else. It’s something I hope every single client of mine feels, down to their very souls!
Cate is from Xavier College Prep, and she absolutely radiated confidence! I LOVED her boho style and the gorgeous colors she wore. She has a feminine, elegant spirit, and a huge smile, and I hope she loves these images as much as I do!
