How to Slay your Senior Portraits

This is Chrissy, a senior at Chaparral High School. Her killer style and super fun personality made for an amazing session in Downtown Scottsdale! During her pre-session consultation we talked about her desire to find a location that captured the beauty of the Arizona desert, but also had a modern flare. The wardrobe she brought was the perfect mix of playful, flirty dresses, trendy denim and colorful sweaters. We added in a few accessories from my style closet and the result was a clinic in What to Wear!

First off, this darling floral dress and gray over the knee boots, paired with a layered choker and suede hat. ANd lets not forget her fun

Her second look brought in a much more edgy, modern feel. Free People black moto jacket, paired with black ripped jeans, a classic white tee and Top Shop steel heeled boots. The play of textures with this outfit is everything! 

Chrissy wanted to include one of her wardrobe essentials, a favorite comfy sweater, jeans and ankle boots brought in all the great fall colors. Her laugh was both constant and contagious!

Hold please for a spontaneous dance party… Oh yeah. It happens.

II’m in love with these black and whites! Especially for a quiet minute in between the playfulness.

Have you ever heard the saying that you’re never fully dressed without a smile? Well it’s true. But a retro print sundress and a fabulous pair of sunnies go pretty far in completing an outfit, too!

We finished up with a fabulous pair of wide leg denim and cream top, Boho braids and a loose choker in front of one of my favorite doors! I had planned ahead for this spot to add in a great south western touch to end her shoot.  And then the sunset hit and we got that beautiful golden light to finish with.

Moral of the story, don’t be afraid to mix up your style for your Senior Pictures! Add in color and texture for variety and to help pull your looks together. At your pre-session consultation, we will plan out your clothing, accessories and hair and make up if working with my make up artists. We’ll also find the perfect location to show off your style.
