Graduation is filled with new adventures, and is a season that’s filled with many more to come. College is a grand adventure of course, but for some, life after high school means a new job or moving out, or starting a trade school…or even taking a year off. I enjoy hearing about all the many things that my seniors are headed off to after graduation. Katie is someone who loves new adventures, and she’s taken on quite a bit in high school, so I know she is well-prepared. She says her biggest accomplishment to date has been being elected to the varsity swim team role of captain, and being captain of the basketball team. She’s also been in leadership as part of the Link crew, FBLA, STAND, and has lent her talents to the photography club, club council, and the Spanish honor society. Somehow, amidst all her many commitments, she also found time to volunteer and serve others; a cause very close to her heart. She has surpassed a jaw-dropping 300 community service hours, and I’m so proud of her!
I also did Katie’s sister’s senior photos (find her blog here) as part of the Class of 2017, and I was thrilled to meet another sister from their wonderful family. They are a tight-knit bunch who truly love one another, and Katie says her family and dogs are the things she could never imagine her life without. Her close friend describe her as funny, self reliant, and very outgoing. “I would define true beauty as waking up natural, without putting on makeup or doing much with my hair! That makes me feel beautiful”, she adds. Katie joined my team for the chance to meet new people, and try a new adventure.
I am excited to follow along on her exciting journey as she pursues the next chapter of her life!
