If I asked you what sport Riley excels at, what would be your guess? Basketball? Tennis? Well you are right if you guessed swimming! This Class of 2021 graduate is heading to Texas to continue her swim career as a Longhorn! I love working with athletes. I am always so impressed with their dedication and discipline to show up every day and put in their 100% all. We wandered around Scottsdale finding all the best spots with greenery and flowers for Riley’s Senior Pictures. She wanted bright colors and a touch of Arizona style for her background. I think we did a great job in finding it for her. All those bright colors made for a gorgeous Album! So often we think we need to find an area that is full of bright colorful walls or big displays of flowers to make a good backdrop. The truth is that we can make a small area look like a field if we shoot at the right angle and catch the perfect light. That is part of what working with a professional photographer adds to the experience. An area may not look like much to an observer, but knowing how certain colors with pop or how the light brings out tones in walls or concrete can make all the difference between a snapshot and a good portrait! I am so glad my seniors trust me when I pick areas that I know will match their style and personality.
We shot Riley’s session at the very beginning of Fall. It was still pretty warm out but everything was also starting to bloom. That makes for a great combination. The soft golden light was perfect against the Oldtown streets and we had fun finding the perfect nooks and crannies to shoot in for the afternoon. Thanks so much for choosing me for your Senior Portraits Riley! I loved meeting you and your mom and wish you all the best in your next chapter. Go Longhorns!
