The most common question from both girls and guys: What do I wear for my senior pictures? Let’s chat about a few options and ideas.
Sure, most guys used to get Senior pictures done to make their moms happy. But lately I am seeing that change. Senior guys have lots of their own ideas about what they want out of their Senior Portrait experience. It’s just as important for them to be able to express who they are with their clothing and location choices. Gone is the day of a simple (read …BORING) white shirt, black blazer and dark pants in a studio with only one backdrop choice. Although classic and appropriate for some types of pictures, it’s not the only option anymore.
Meet Enzo. He definitely had an idea of what he wanted to include. Nothing too dressy, but nice enough to look put together and reflect his style. He choose for a short and sweet mini Session that included 2 looks. For his first look, a classic black tee and jeans with accessories that were important to him. Accessories are as big of a deal for guys these days as they are for girls. Rings, bracelets, watches all add that extra something and make you look more put together. Pair all of this with his desire for clean lines, masculine colors and nature and you’ve got a great combination! This spot is a great backdrop and adds subtle texture and color to complement his black clothing.
A clean white button down is always a good idea, with neutral colored pants and some casual converse to match the desert colors of his backdrop. I loved his simple, no fuss looks. Handsome and timeless! I knew exactly where we were going to shoot when he told me his desired looks and clothing choices. I picked a location without fussy backgrounds and stayed with clean lines and neutral tones for his shoot. You want to make sure you pair the right types of clothing to your location so the two are not competing for attention in the final images. Do you need ideas for your Senior Portraits? I offer all of my seniors, both guys and girls, a full consultation to plan out location and clothing choices. I also have a What to Wear Guide that I will send once you’ve booked your date.
